Mountain Dulcimer B Stephen Seifert Foundational Techniques for Beginners. Using a number of traditional tunes and spiritual songs, we’ll cover holding, stringing, tuning, strumming, fretting, and chording the dulcimer.
B+ Bruce Ford Daily PT for Beginners. Advance your skills: (1) master the motions and positions involved in fingering, chording and cross-picking up and down the fret board and (2) mastering strum techniques as well as embellishments. The key is muscle memory… working on a skill until it feels comfortable and becomes natural.
B/I Dave Haas Learn how to play slower songs in a smooth and melodic style by picking the strings one at a time. Learn left and right hand techniques, finger exercises as you build your repertoire.

Dulcimer Jam Class! Learn jam basics, lots of popular jam tunes, and jammin’ tricks! New tunes from previous years in this fun class!
B/I - I Janita Baker Christmas In June. Get ready for the holidays early with finger picking and strumming arrangements of all sorts of holiday songs, including some for Thanksgiving.
I Butch Ross From Tune to Arrangement. Learn how a few simple embellishments can turn old warhorses into fun new arrangements.
I Gary Gallier Waltzes & Chord Arpeggios. We’ll learn some lovely waltzes as we use melody notes contained in chords, cross picking through chords using patterned chord arpeggios, chord inversion methods and more!
I-I/A-A Robert Force Stage Craft & Performance. Step on stage with confidence! We will cover material listed in “Sweeten The Mids” class and put it to use! Come prepared to play 3 songs – classmates become your sound tek team. You will rotate through work stations, learning each – cabler, sound mixist, stage hand, etc. Learn to control the dynamics of the venue and more!
A Aaron O'Rourke Advanced Duets. We WILL NOT work on tab for two dulcimers. Instead we’ll focus on listening and playing spontaneously with one other person. We’ll cover how to accompany someone taking a lead, improvisation, and non-verbal communication through playing.
Singing w/ Dulcimer B/I Karen Mueller We’ll focus on accompanying singing; playing simple chords and strumming rhythms while you sing. We’ll construct arrangements of songs, introductions and breaks. Bring a capo if you have one. You’re welcome to just come sing & learn some new songs!
Hammered Dulcimer B - B/I Jim Miller Fiddle Tunes. Common and not so common fiddle tunes taught with basic melody and embellishments.
B/I Rick Thum Jamming Class. Learn chords and chord progressions. Apply these through various techniques to tunes and songs. We will do lots of Playing and lots of technique building through jamming.
I Guy George Repertoire. New Tunes for 2010. We’ll do some Folk, Jazz, Caribbean, Old Tyme, and Gospel tunes with some cool arrangements, too. This will add to your song list big time!
I/A Princess Harris Learn some new embellished tunes and back up possibilities. We’ll have one day of learning to pluck the dulcimer. We’ll also talk about playing with a band or group and building arrangements for them.
A Steve Eulberg Blues & All That Jazz. Learn and use those chromatic notes and rich chords. Beyond the I, IV and V of chords, to minor 7ths, suspended chords and different chord voicings that enrich our playing.
Banjo B - B/I Jeff Furman “The Zen of Clawhammer Banjo!!!” We’ll cover many aspects of playing clawhammer banjo including techniques, tunings, jamming skills, more! Drooling is encouraged! Bring a banjo CAPO.
Native American Flute All Bing Futch We’ll learn breath control, fingering and scales, ornaments and effects, tab reading and how to create your own personal music. (New: a "B" flute can be brought to class by you or available for sale at a great price.)
Mixed Instrument Ensemble I-I/A-A Paul Oorts We’ll learn how to creatively and interactively arrange music for ensembles. In a process-oriented way (rather than product oriented) we will explore the use of drones, simple and more complex chord progressions and rhythms.
Mandolin B - B/I Turner Hutchens We’ll work on Bluegrass style mandolin including techniques, lots of tunes, tips and other information.
**Gourd Drum Making & Decorating All Anne Zabenco A variety of artistic techniques will be used to decorate large gourds and then turn them into great sounding drums!
**Campground Cooking All Alan Darveaux Learn everything from baking bread to making a wonderful English Broil on a small modified grill. Lots of new ideas from last year!
